Scripture

Noah Prepares for the Flood

Then the Lord said to Noe, "Go into the ark, you and all your household; for you, in this generation, I have found just in my sight. Of all clean animals take with you seven pairs, a male and its mate; and of the unclean animals two, a male and its mate; of the birds of the air also, seven pairs, male and female, that they may raise up offspring over all the earth. For after seven days I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the ground every living…

Scripture

Before the Flood

When men began to multiply on the earth, and had daughters born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were fair, and they took wives for themselves, as many as they wished. Then the Lord said, "My spirit shall not remain in man forever, since he is flesh. His lifetime shall be one hundred and twenty years."

Scripture

Adam’s Descendants

This is the record of the descendants of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and called them Man when they were created. When Adam was one hundred and thirty years old, he became the father of a son in his own likeness, after his image, and he called him Seth. Adam lived eight hundred years after the birth of Seth, and had other sons and daughters. The whole lifetime of Adam was nine hundred and thirty years; and then he died.

The Story of Cain and Abel

The man knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, "I have given birth to a manchild with the help of the Lord." Later, she bore his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of flocks and Cain a tiller of the soil. In the course of time Cain brought to the Lord an offering of the fruit of the ground. Abel also brought some of the firstlings of his flock with their fat portions. The Lord was pleased with Abel and his offerings; but for Cain and his offering he had no regard. Cain was very…

Scripture

Temptation and Fall

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God say, 'You shall not eat of any tree of the garden'?" The woman answered the serpent, "Of the fruit of all the trees in the garden we may eat; but 'Of the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden,' God said, 'you shall not eat, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'"

Scripture

Garden of Eden

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished and all their array. On the sixth day God finished the work he had been doing. And he rested on the seventh day from all the work he had done. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy because on it he rested from all his work of creation. This is the story of the heavens and the earth at their creation. When the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, their was not yet any field shrub on the earth nor had the plants of the field sprung up,…

Scripture

Story of Creation

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth; the earth was waste and void; darkness covered the abyss, and the spirit of God was stirring above the waters. God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good. God separated the light from the darkness, calling the light Day and the darkness Night. And there was evening and morning, the first day.

Hymns

Abide With Me

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide; The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide. When other helpers fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, O abide with me. Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day; Earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away; Change and decay in all around I see; O […]
